Kohl's donated $31,840 to the Georgia Health Sciences Children's Medical Center to fund community educational events, including an asthma awareness event in May at the department store in Evans. About 75 children were screened for asthma and provided take-home asthma kits at the event sponsored by the Kohl's Cares for Kids program. Accepting the donation are Clifton Dennis (back row, from right) and Jennifer Anderson, both in respiratory therapy at Georgia Health Sciences, and representing Kohl's is Store Manager Regina Ripkey (back row, center) with several Kohl's community support volunteers.
Donors are still needed for the Christmas Store, an outreach to provide assistance to area families during the holiday season.
Clothing and gift donations are still needed for about 100 children, said Louvenia Mathews.
