A Martinez businessman and a former assistant district attorney are headed for a Dec. 2 runoff election for the Columbia County Commission District 3 seat. Trip Derryberry garnered the most votes in Tuesday's special election, but was unable to draw the more than 50 percent required to win outright. He will face Mack Taylor, a lawyer in private practice, who came in second with about 23 percent of the vote.
