Someone deserves kudos for our local schools having the foresight to take off the day after the Masters Tournament.

Ruthie Owen likes to stay busy. For her senior year at Augusta Prep, she played volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter and is now playing tennis. She even did cheerleading for the first time during football season, though she admitted she didn't enjoy it as much as her other sports.

The kennel is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for adoptions and visiting animals and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to reclaim a lost pet and other services. The facility is located at 1940 William Few Parkway in Grovetown.

Our great Constitution has never protected us from judicial overreach. It has only granted us the ability to elect a president and a senate that by and through them we are able to select those that will sit in judgment and thus render an interpretation of our Constitution.

I live three miles from the Augusta National, a 10-minute drive at the most, but I allowed 45. Fifteen minutes after I left home I was walking through gate 9, the first time I'd ever been 30 minutes early for anything. But then, a little more than 20 years ago, that was the first time I'd ever been to "The Masters."
