Goalkeeper Jasmine Cole of Evans was named the girls Region 2-AAAAA player of the year after helping her team pull off a first. The Lady Knights went ­undefeated­ in regular season region play for the first time in school history. Cole allowed five goals in region play as Evans amassed a 10-0 record in the regular season. The Knights advanced to the region championship as well as the first round of the state tournament.

The Greenbrier basketball camp, for fourth- through eighth-graders, will be held June 1-3 at Greenbrier High School. The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Campers will receive a t-shirt, basketball and lunch on Friday, June 3.
