Grovetown officials have scheduled a March special election to fill an empty council seat.
Former City Councilwoman Jennifer Jones, whose term expires at the end of 2015, resigned Jan. 17, according to City Manager Shirley Beasley.
A special election is set for March 19 to fill Jones’ unexpired term.
Qualifying for the special election will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 20-12 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 22 at City Hall. The qualifying fee is $108.
Candidates must be at least 25, registered voters and have lived inside the city for at least a year.
