Worker's death investigated
Authorities confirmed that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration contacted investigators regarding a man killed Thursday in Evans.
According to officials, James Chain Price, 25, of Augusta, was killed when a high wall of dirt and clay collapsed and suffocated him while he laid pipe in a trench at the site of a new subdivision in Evans. The incident happened off General Woods Parkway.
County sheriff's Maj. Steve Morris said Price was an employee of Hardy Plumbing.
