A dedicated, well-respected doctor and Columbia County public servant died Saturday.
Dr. Alton F. “Butch” Garrison, 74, died after a brief illness.
“He was just such a good person,” said Harriett, his wife of 29 years.
Garrison was a general and vascular surgeon for 39 years. He was one of the founding doctors of Doctors Hospital and was instrumental in the creation of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center.
“He and Joe Still worked so hard to get the first burn patients at Doctors Hospital,” his wife said.
