One of the most distinct landmarks in Evans is getting a facelift.
The Woodbridge Homeowners Association hired Tom Mell to refinish the neighborhood’s namesake and most recognizable feature, the covered bridge.
“It was just starting to look bad,” said Joe Wheeler, an association board member and organizer of the project.
Mell, owner of Southern Pride Stain, began working on the bridge on Monday.
The unfinished or treated cedar bridge was looking weathered and needed rejuvenation, he said.
