Vet finds dog's neck punctured
A man was charged with animal cruelty after a veterinarian's office reported his dog had puncture wounds in its neck from an overly tight collar.
James Lee Long, 59, took an 8-month-old male dog to a Martinez vet to be neutered. The vet told police the dog had a terrible odor and two wounds on its neck near its collar that were stained from the leaky punctured area.
