Man arrested for cursing at family

Authorities arrested an Evans man Friday after a woman claimed he was cursing loudly in front of her small children.

Tyler O’Neil King, 21, of Creekside Drive, was charged with disorderly conduct after the incident that occurred near a beach area at Wildwood Park on Clark’s Hill Lake.

Man found unconscious in road median dies

A man died last week after he was found unconscious in a road median.

A Doctors Hospital spokeswoman incorrectly said Thursday that Eddie Reville, 62, had been treated and released. Reville actually died while in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, spokeswoman Barclay Bishop said Monday.

A deputy found Reville lying in the center median of Jimmie Dyess Parkway at Park West Drive unconscious and not breathing just after midnight on April 17. He had abrasions on his right knee and right arm.

An Evans woman became combative early Friday after deputies pulled her vehicle over to find out if she was involved in a single-vehicle wreck.

When she was stopped by authorities, Ophelia Pantera Overton, 19, of the 770 block of Laurel Springs Court, first refused to get out of her vehicle, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

Authorities are looking for a man who robbed an employee of Rhineharts restaurant at gunpoint early Friday as she sat inside her vehicle in the restaurant parking lot.

The man pulled a small handgun on the 35-year-old victim while she and another woman were sitting in her vehicle at about 12:30 a.m. after closing the Evans restaurant.

The man put the gun to the victim’s head and demanded she give him two money bags. He also made the victim give him her iPhone 4S before he ran into the woods behind the restaurant.
