2 men admit to Walmart theft

Two men attempted to steal a variety of edibles from an Evans business, but were caught when law enforcement witnessed the men running across a street with the stolen items.

A deputy reported that he made contact with Clinton Shields and Robert Shaw around 5 a.m., according to the incident report.

The men admitted to taking the items without paying and were returned to Walmart on Washington Road in Evans. The store declined the option to prosecute.

Shaw had stolen Sunchips, beef jerkey, Pringles, Legos and Mega Construx blocks totaling $95.30. Shields took Sunchips, two bags of beef jerkey, two candy bars and a bag of M&M's totaling $14.

 

Man sought in connection to theft
A man is wanted in connection with the theft of multiple items from a vacant lot.

Police said the subject, who was seen on surveillance video, took a fertilizer spreader, scrap metal, scaffolding and a mortar box from the 200 block of N. Belair Road.

The man was seen driving a white Ford F-350 pickup truck pulling a trailer.
