Man shoots his hand with gun

A Grovetown man was treated at Doctors Hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the hand.

According to reports, police responded to the hospital after being called about an accidental shooting.

The man told police he was attempting to show his wife how the safety worked on his Sig Saur P238. According to police reports, the man stated the bullet entered the palm of his left hand and exited the back of his hand. He then said his wife took him to the hospital.

Woman reports fake policeman

A woman reported two suspicioius males, one whom impersonated a police officer in the parking lot of a Martinez business.

Police responded Thursday to the parking lot of Lowe’s to a report of a suspicious situation.

Upon arrival, a woman told police a man approached her while she was sitting in her vehicle, and told her she dropped her wallet.

The woman said the man picked up a black wallet next to her car, and went around to the passenger side door and asked her to let him sit in the passenger seat, and she agreed.

The woman told police she then opened her door and held her keys in her left hand. The man reportedly asked her to close the door because it was hot outside, and she disagreed.

At that time, the woman told police the man pulled a piece of paper out of the wallet that stated, “I did it big … $650,000 … give some to mom.”

The woman stated she told the man to take the wallet into the store, but the man said he had already called the police.

A second man in a suit then approached the vehicle and said he was a police officer.

The woman asked the man for identification, which he could not provide, so the woman refused to go with the man. She said the man then grabbed her wrist and said she needed to come to the police station with him. The woman said she twisted her wrist free and ran inside the store.

Surveillance video did not capture anything. The loss prevention manager also stated no suspicious males were seen that matched the woman’s description.

Fight leaves TV, fridge damaged

A man and woman were cited for disorderly conduct after an argument about liquor.

Police responded to the 5000 block of Wrightsboro Road in Grovetown in regards to disorderly conduct.

The argument reportedly began after the man took a shot of liquor during his lunch break. The woman then confronted the man about the liquor, and he became angry and punched the refrigerator. The woman then confronted the man again about his outburst and he grabbed the woman by the throat.

The man then picked up the television and slammed it to the ground and the woman retaliated by throwing the man’s Playstation gaming console out a window into some bushes.

Police who responded to the scene stated there were red marks around the woman’s neck, a dent in the refrigerator, a broken TV and a Playstation in the bushes. The accounts from the man and the woman differed and both were given citations for disorderly conduct.

Man reports 2 pool floats stolen from truck toolbox

A man reported two pool flotation devices stolen from the toolbox of his truck. According to reports, the man claimed an unknown person accessed and went through the toolbox on his truck that was parked in his driveway.

The man reported two swimming noodles were taken.

Upon arrival, the deputy observed a secured tool box with the contents undisturbed inside. An investigator was notified not to respond to the scene due to a lack of evidence.

Pregnant woman strikes husband, bruises her hand

A pregnant woman received a citation for disorerly conduct after reportedly hitting her husband so hard it caused her hand to swell and bruise.

Police responded to a simple battery report at a residence in the 4000 block of Hillside Drive in Evans on Friday.

According to reports, the woman came home late and began doing dishes. The husband woke up and asked her to wait to do them until the morning. The woman stated she did not want to wait and an argument ensued.

The woman reportedly followed the man into their bedroom.

The man then went into their son’s room to avoid further arguments and told him to go sleep in the bedroom with his mother. The boy refused and the man began to yell at the boy and demanded that he leave the room.

The woman feared the man would hit the boy, so she pushed her husband away from the boy and slapped him on the back. The man then moved his wife away from him and locked himself in his bedroom. The woman called the police.

Upon arrival the deputy observed redness on the man’s back and slight redness on the left side of his face. The deputy also observed an injury to the woman’s hand, which reportedly occurred from striking her husband so hard it caused immediate swelling and bruising.

The woman was determined to the aggressor in the case, but because she was 6-7 months pregnant, and had a lack of family violence incidents and only minor injuries, she was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. The woman and the children left the residence for the night to avoid further confrontation.
