Bicycle deputy injured in accident

Center, a bicycle deputy, was riding with his partner in front of Lowe's on Washington Road in Evans at about 3 p.m. They were trying to cross Washington Road to get to a wreck when he was hit by the Toyota minivan driven by Yasmill Ramirez, 37, of Windmill Lane in Evans, according to sheriff's Capt. Sharif Chochol. Center was awake and alert after the wreck, but sustained injuries ot his right arm and leg. He was transported to the Georgie Regents Medical Center. Sgt. A.J.
