Authorities are looking for a man who robbed an employee of Rhineharts restaurant at gunpoint early Friday as she sat inside her vehicle in the restaurant parking lot.

The man pulled a small handgun on the 35-year-old victim while she and another woman were sitting in her vehicle at about 12:30 a.m. after closing the Evans restaurant.

The man put the gun to the victim’s head and demanded she give him two money bags. He also made the victim give him her iPhone 4S before he ran into the woods behind the restaurant.

The women said that the robber was wearing a black shirt with a grey bandana covering his face. They also described him as black with large eyes and a 2- to 3-inch afro.

A deputy spotted a man, who fit the womens’ description, walking on North Belair Road and transported him back to the Rhineharts parking lot. Charges were initially filed against the man, but Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said they will likely be dismissed.

Just My Opinion

Why in the world...

...would the charges be dismissed?? I mean, a guy puts a gun to your head, demanding money and personal items, and then you consider letting him off?? What's to keep him from doing the same thing to some other innocent victim? Nothing. There's got to be more to this story than appears.

why in the world

Charges were probably dropped because they had the wrong person,or the girls lied. Who knows? I am going to assume by the wording in the article that states the deputy picked up "a" man instead of "the" man that the possibility exists that it was not who they were looking for. It happens.
