Mongan: I want to leave a legacy

Posted: October 11, 2017 - 1:57am

As I contemplate, while found here in middle age,

And remember back to the bygone days,

I thank my God with all my heart,

That Jesus was my all, and not just a part.

The life I lived here on earth,

Has been a training ground since my rebirth.

No, I did not do everything right.

The world, the flesh and the devil, put up quite a fight.

I can say with assurance, that God held me with all His might,

After all, it is really His fight.

So, remember this, my child, even if you forget all else,

Do not put your Jesus upon a shelf.

For He alone is the one that is right, and the one that is true,

He will never ever abandon you.

Jesus will be there when trials come.

He will be there, even if He is the only one.

He will fulfill all your desires, and all your needs,

Jesus will carry your cross, while in His presence you plead.

This is not a fairy tale, or just a nice story,

For one day we all will see God in all His Glory.

He is faithful, and He is true,

Jesus is the only one, who can complete you.

Friendships often fail, or disappoint, family may not understand,

Jesus alone is faithful, to Him reach out your hand.

Forget not, that God knew you in my, your mother's womb,

So be assured that death will not find you alone in a tomb.

No, you will stand naked before your God, as your life passes in a flash

Then, hopefully, you will do the victory dance.

Jesus, alone is the reason for our hope.

So, give Him your whole heart and don't be a dope.

Some call Jesus Savior, some brother, some friend,

Please make Jesus your Lord!! Amen!

This poem is truth, not just a passing whim.

Again, I plead with you, get to know Him.

Dad and I can lead you, and we can pray,

But in the end freewill gives you, your own say.

For ultimately, it is your choice, but our prayer is that you follow God's voice.

I am not telling you this, just to be nice,

It is the truth my child, because God alone will suffice.

One day I will not be here to lead, pray, or guide,

Hopefully, the seeds I planted will grow inside.

To know, love and serve God on this earth,

That is the reason I gave you birth.

Please read this poem often, especially, when God seems far away.

Always remember, my child, the gift of faith that I passed down to you this day.

The day I poured out my mother's heart pleading for each one,

To accept the cross on Calvary, and learn to love God's Son.

Now this poem is ended-Was it written in vain?

Once truth is encountered, no one can be the same.

Dad and I will continue to pray that you will seek God's Face.

For we want to see you in heaven-It is a real place.
