Wayne Davis: was charged for secretly video taping a young woman undress.

A Columbia County man’s prison term imposed for secretly video-recording a girl as she dressed and undressed was cut in half Tuesday.

Judge Sheryl B. Jolly granted the defense’s request to release Wayne Davis from the two-year term she imposed in January 2014. Davis had pleaded guilty in Columbia County Superior Court to five counts of unlawful surveillance.

He was accused of secretly recording the girl between 2005 and
2011.

On Tuesday, the girl’s father told the judge that the family was not opposed to whatever decision she made about Davis’ release from prison.

Davis’ attorney, Neal Dickert, told the judge that the Department of Corrections put Davis on a fast track for early release and that Davis completed courses that earn inmates early release time.

But the Board of Pardons and Paroles will not consider him for parole, Dickert said.

Davis has been at the Augusta transition center for some time and works a day shift at U.S. Battery, where he is extremely helpful in training other workers, Dickert said.

Davis returns to the center in the evenings.

Jolly ruled Davis may be released from the transition center with his agreement to continue his work at U.S. Battery through the end of the year.

In 2016, Davis will begin serving the remainder of his sentence, eight years of probation.

Scott Dean

Wonder why Scott Dean can't get a deal like this?

Sometime you can just look at a guy and tell he's a pervert.

The reason Scott Dean can't get a deal is because the prosecution and conviction were politically motivated. He must have rubbed some powerful people the wrong way because that man was railroaded. They (and yes I mean you Ashley Wright) had a political motive behind prosecuting him and they got exactly what they wanted. I don't know Dean so I have no emotional attachment to this case but he got the shaft!
Ashley Wright I think you are corrupt along with a few judges in this good ole boy city.
She says she's just following the law but I can see right through her motives.
