Fireworks burst in the sky over the veterans monument at Patriots Park during the Fourth of July Celebration at Patriots Park. This year the event is moving to Evans Towne Center Park.

Columbia County’s Fourth of July Celebration and fireworks show will take place in the heart of Evans this Friday.

The free annual event has been moved from Patriot’s Park to Evans Towne Center Park this year, said Stacie Adkins, the county’s Community Events manager. Gates will open at 2 p.m. and the fireworks show will begin when night falls. The event will feature carnival rides, water rides, games, concessions and live entertainment. Music from Hack Bartley and Shuffle, the Fort Gordon Army Signal Corps Band, Abilene Baptist Church, Jerusalem Sounds Band and Livingroon Legends begins at 3 p.m.

Adkins said Evans Government complex parking lots will be open for parking, and there will be additional parking available in the open field across from the park. Handicap parking will be available in a disignated area close to the park, she said.
