Firefighters extinguished a fire at Creative Marble on Thursday.

Firefighters were called to Creative Marble at 4188 Belair Frontage Road at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday to extinguish a chemical fire that injured one worker, officials said.

Columbia County Battalion Chief Anthony Lovett said Richmond County firefighters were first on the scene at the business’s warehouse and both departments worked together to put out the blaze. Lovett said the fire was brought under control with 15 minutes of arrival.

Lovett said the injured worker, whose name was not available, was transported to the Joseph M. Still burn center for treatment. No information on his condition was immediately available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
