Woman's home broken into

Posted: October 5, 2013 - 11:02pm

The following accounts were taken from Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident reports:

Woman’s home broken into

An Evans woman called authorities twice on one day stating that her home was broken into one night and two young men came in while she was home the next day.

The 42-year-old said she came home from work at about 7:15 p.m. Monday and found the back door frame was damaged from someone kicking it. The sliding glass doors that led from the porch/sunroom area into the residence were locked and not damaged.

The woman said she’s had trouble before with juveniles walking to school who have come into her yard and house.

The woman said the damaged door wouldn’t lock and she couldn’t have it repaired until Tuesday. At about 2:15 p.m., the woman said she was home when two young men walked into her home through the unlocked back door. She was sitting on the sofa and heard the back door open. She walked over and saw two young men standing in her sunroom.

When she asked the young men what they were doing in her house, the woman said they just walked out. She tried to stop them and get the young men to talk to her, but they jumped through her back fence where some boards were missing and ran up the path behind it.

The woman described the young men as 16-20 years old. The woman said one was tall and slim with shaggy brown hair and was wearing a black shirt with a colorful design on the front and black shorts. The other was shorter and stocky with shorter brown hair, a black shirt and black pants.

Juvenile drug dealer arrested

Authorities arrested a 13-year-old girl Tuesday for selling marijuana at Lakeside Middle School.

The 13-year-old from Martinez was discovered selling marijuana to a 15-year-old male classmate. The girl had .7 grams of marijuana in her possession and the boy had 1.9 grams of marijuana in his possession.

The girl was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. She was taken to the female juvenile detention facility in Macon, Ga.

Authorities charged the boy with possession of marijuana and transported him to the Regional Youth Detention Center.
