The Columbia County Health Department started its annual fall Community Flu Shot Clinics on Wednesday.
The clinics run through the end of October and are open to the community.
Vaccines will be available for children as young as six months through seniors.
“We recommend that everyone over six months get a flu vaccine,” health department Nurse Manager Linda Graves said.
The cost of the vaccine is $25 for the injectable vaccine, $35 for the flu mist, which is only for those ages 2-59) and $45 for the high-dose vaccines for seniors 65 and over.
The vaccine is free under state insurance including United Health Care, Cigna, Aetna, Medicare Part B, Medicaid, Peach Care and Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO, POS and HMO).
Only cash and checks will be accepted.
