If you are like me, you like to try new things. I like to go places I’ve never been and see sights I’ve never seen. I like to discover new foods and to meet new people.
I’m curious about the world, which is probably why I ended up in the newspaper business.
Being a journalist, I get to indulge my natural curiosity for just about everything. Whenever you see something strange and new, you might say, “what is that?” or “how did they do that?” It’s natural.
It’s much the same for me, except it’s my job to find out. It’s my vocation to ask questions and get answers. Rarely does a day go by that I don’t learn something new.
I like new things, but I also like the comforts of coming home at night and sitting down with my family, talking about the day and enjoying a home-cooked meal.
I like knowing my neighbors and seeing friends at church and watching their kids grow up with mine. I like being part of a community and having an interest in what goes on around me, which brings me to the newspaper you are holding.
Columbia County Today is a new, free weekly publication that will be delivered to your door each Wednesday.
It’s something new, but it has a lot of things in it you will find familiar. You will find much of the same community news, photos and features you would find in the Columbia County News-Times, but in a more compact format.
It’s just beginning, so you can expect added features and new content to evolve as it grows. But you can also expect news about your community, friends and family.
We expect your feedback so we can make it better. Give us a call at (706) 868-1222 or send an e-mail to cnt@newstimes online.com. We are eager to know what you think.
