The city of Grovetown is offering families a chance for one last hoorah before school begins.
The Dogs Days of Summer Carnival will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Park Community Center, 1040 Newmantown Road.
The festival includes arts, crafts, vendors and live entertainment from the Douglas Brothers.
Family-friendly activities include bounce houses, inflatable slides and carnival games and rides, including a trackless train and a childrens’ Ferris wheel, said Jennifer Evans, Grovetown Community Events Coordinator.
“I’m really excited about the Ferris wheel,” Evans said.
Goodie bags containing school supplies will be available for the first 75 pupils.
“And a couple of our vendors will be giving out free school supplies,” Evans said.
Guests are invited to a viewing of Despicable Me on a large movie screen, beginning at dark. Chairs and blankets are welcome. The movie is free and concessions will be available.
Vendors spaces are still available for $25 and event sponsorships for $250-$2,500.
