The CSRA Mustang Club’s annual “Ponies in the Park” Mustang and Ford Show returns Saturday to Evans Towne Center Park.
The fourth annual Ford-themed car show will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The cost for show entries is $25; spectators get in free.
The event is the only area car show focusing on Ford vehicles, with an emphasis on Mustangs, said Club President Don Blackstock. This will be the second year the club has held the show at the Evans park.
“Word got out about how nice of a venue it was and it has been getting crazy on us,” he said.
Last year, 115 cars were in the show, Blackstock said. This year 130-150 cars are expected to be registered.
Proceeds raised from car registration, T-shirt and food sales at the show will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and the Rebecca Erryn Moon Foundation, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families who have children diagnosed with cancer.
“We just decided to split the money evenly between the two causes because we just felt so good about both of them,” Blackstock said. “We felt like we just had to help both.”
