It’s an event packed with entertainers in addition to games for kids, and it’s designed to raise money in the fight against Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
The Wisteria Hill Plantation Family Fun Day will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, April 28, at Wisteria Hill Plantation in Appling.
Dustin Woods, who is coordinating the event, heard about the death of Wyatt Auffrey, the infant son of Augusta RiverHawks Matt Auffrey, to SIDS and wanted to do something to raise awareness of SIDS.
“We started working with MCG, and it’s just blown up from there. We have vendors and rides for kids. We have actually had to turn people (vendors) away,” said Woods.
The Swingin’ Medallions is the headliner for the event and is scheduled to play intermittently between 3 and 6 p.m. Other performers who will take the stage throughout the day include Tony Howard, She N She, Kelsey Gibson, Shelby Paige Walker,Trish Johnson Watts, Brandon Paugh, Shelley Watkins McGee, Connor Howell, META4 and Augusta West Dance Studio.
Vendors will have arts and crafts items and there will be representatives of home-based businesses such as Origami Owl, Scentsy, It Works and Pampered Chef. There will be food and beverages as well as unlimited rides and inflatables for children.
Tickets are $20 for teens and adults 13 years-old and older; $15 for children between the ages of 6 and 12. Children 5 and younger are admitted free. VIP tickets cost $60 and include reserved parking, reserved seating, special VIP entrance, meet and greet with the Swingin’ Medallions and unlimited beverages.
