Breakfast raises funds for literacy

Posted: April 2, 2013 - 4:06pm

A breakfast Saturday in Evans will help raise funds for a literacy program for area children.

The Greater Augusta Partnership for Literacy will hold the breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Fatz Cafe, on North Belair Road at Hereford Farm Road.

Breakfast costs $8 for adults, with children under 6 free with purchase of an adult ticket. Proceeds help provide funding for books sent monthly to children from birth to age 5 from the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The Greater Augusta Partnership for Literacy sends more than 700 books each month to children in Columbia and Richmond counties.
