School disciplinary hearings, March 13, 2013

• A Harlem High School student went before the school system hearing officer Feb. 26 for causing a school disruption and was given out-of-school suspension and in-school suspension for 15 days.

• A Harlem High student went before the hearing officer Feb. 26 on a charge of public intoxication (drugs) and was given long-term suspension with the option to attend the Columbia County Alternative School for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.

• An Evans High student went before the hearing officer Feb. 26 on a charge of possession of marijuana and was given long-term suspension with the option to attend the alternative school for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.

• A Stallings Island Middle School special education student went before the hearing officer Feb. 28 for an accumulation of offenses and was remanded to his Individual Educational Plan Committee.

• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer for an accumulation of offenses Feb. 28 and was expelled for the rest of the 2012-13 school year and the first semester of the 2013-14 school year.

• A Columbia Middle School student went before the hearing officer Feb. 28 for an accumulation of offenses and was expelled for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.

• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer Feb. 28 for an accumulation of offenses and was expelled for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.

• An Evans High student went before the hearing officer Feb. 28 for fighting and violation of school system probation and was remanded to the school with time served.
