After finding success at the Evans Towne Center Park in 2012, the Columbia County RV & Boat Show will make a return appearance this year.
The fifth-annual incarnation of the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m Friday to Sunday, March 15-17. Admission is free.
“As long as the weather’s good, we should have a good day,” said Jeb Bell, Wildwood Park coordinator.
There are expected to be at least 30 to 40 boats and a dozen or so recreational vehicles on display.
Those displaying their wares are Hayes Marine, Lincolnton Marine, Augusta Marine and Platinum Marine, while recreation vehicles will be displayed by CSRA Camperland and Augusta RV.
There will be balloons and activities for children, and food will be available.
As well as being one of the 20 vendors on site, Dream Builders of America’s Youth, Inc. will be raffling off a boat to help fund programs, achievement awards, scholarships and a trip to Washington, D.C., for top students in its programs.
“Some guy donated a boat to us and he went to Africa to be a full-time missionary,” said Richard Pharris, one of the nonprofit’s board members. “It’s a 20.1-foot center-console Sundance with a canopy on it, fully loaded, every amenity you could ever think of,” he said, adding that it was a 2006 model that retailed for $43,000. Tickets cost $100 and the final drawing will be at the Augusta Outdoor Expo at the James Brown Arena on Saturday, July 27.
