The fourth annual Columbia County Charity Gala, a Vegas-style event, is set for Saturday at Savannah Rapids Pavilion.
Tickets are on sale now for $75 per person, or $125 per couple.
Proceeds from the event will be split between the Columbia County Arts Development Fund, Columbia County Cares food pantry and Columbia County Foundation for Children. The endowment fund provides grants to arts and other non-profit organizations to hold public events at any Columbia County facility including the Lady Antebellum Pavilion and Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center.
The event raised about $19,000 in 2011 and about $22,500 last year, said Stacie Adkins, county Community Events Manager.
This year’s event includes performances by Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley tribute artists.
Admission includes dinner, provided by Silver Palm Catering Co., a drink, raffle ticket and chips for the casino games including blackjack, roulette, craps and poker.
“There’s no winnings on this,” Adkins said. “It’s a fundraiser. There’s no winning at the table. It’s just for fun.”
Guests can also join a Texas Hold’em tournament. Buy-ins cost $25 and seating is limited, with a year’s worth of bragging rights to the winner.
A silent auction and raffle include electronics, gift certificates to lots of local businesses and even passes to Universal Studios theme park, Adkins said.
The gala is black-tie optional.
Tickets are available at Learning Express in Mullins Crossing shopping center, from the Community and Leisure Services office or online at www.etix.com. Texas Hold’em buy-ins are available from the Leisure Services office.
