Columbia County school hearings

• A Grovetown High School student went before the school system hearing officer on Nov. 13 for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of this school year.

• A Grovetown High School student went before the hearing officer on Nov. 13 for possession of drugs paraphernalia and willful refusal and was remanded to the school with six days of out-of-school suspension and in-school suspension.

• A Columbia County Alternative School student went before the hearing officer on Nov. 13 for destruction of school property and was remanded to the school with six days of in-school suspension.

• A Lakeside High School student went before the hearing officer on Nov. 16 for battery and was suspended for the remainder of this school year’s first semester.

• A Lakeside High School student went before the hearing officer on Nov. 16 for possession of a knife and was remanded to the school.

• A Lakeside High School student went before the hearing officer on Nov. 16 for possession of a knife and was expelled for the remainder of this school year.
