Moms in Grovetown can now enjoy a play date of their own.
The MOMS Club of Grovetown is joining MOMS clubs in Evans and Martinez.
“The most important benefit of being a member of MOMS Club is support, provided during the day, during the week, when at-home moms need support the most,” said Melissa Blizzard, marketing chairwoman of the local groups. “We provide this support by offering a variety of activities that at-home moms can attend with their children.”
The Grovetown club has about 40 members and there are about 160 countywide, she said.
A chapter launch for the MOMS Club of Grovetown will be held Friday from 10 a.m. until noon at the Trails at Euchee Creek on Harlem-Grovetown Road.
“The Grovetown Club was formed by dividing the area previously served by the MOMS Club of Evans,” said Blizzard. “The Evans Chapter had grown to over 100 members, and MOMS clubs believe that chapters function best when they are between 30 and 60 members.”
The new chapter will serve Grovetown, Harlem and Appling, as well as the Fort Gordon community, Blizzard said.
MOMS Club of Grovetown provides an activity nearly every weekday, with members attending as many or as few as they choose.
MOMS Club chapters also provide members the opportunity to do community service through projects that benefit mothers and children locally and around the world. Members also enjoy one MOMS night out each month.
Membership is open to any mother who lives in the service area. Individuals interested in joining the organization should email firstname.lastname@example.org to be connected with Crystal Simpson, the group’s membership vice president.
During the MOMS Club of Grovetown launch, moms will be given the opportunity to learn more about the group, interact with new members and engage in social time.
“We’ll have bubbles and balls for the children, information for the moms and a trail mix snack with juice boxes and water,” said Blizzard. “Children are invited to bring bikes and helmets to further enjoy the Euchee Creek Trails.”
