Dan Hillman considers the Savannah Rapids Pavilion the perfect venue for his organization’s fall fundraiser.
Child Enrichment Inc.’s Art of Chocolate takes place at the pavilion at 3300 Evans-to-Locks Road in Martinez, from 7-11 p.m. Friday.
The annual event, now in its 17th year, features desserts and exhibits from several local chefs, including La Bonbonniere, La Maison, Doubletree Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Garlic Clove Italian Eatery, Augusta Technical College’s Culinary Arts program and Bruster’s Real Ice Cream.
Participating chefs will be vying for recognition and awards in three categories: best dessert, most creative and best presentation, Hillman said.
“It is astounding what they provide,” he said.
Dinner will be catered by Cal Berry with music by The Toasters.
The dress is black-tie optional.
All money raised benefits Child Enrichment, which assists abused, neglected and abandoned children in the Augusta area. Last year, $36,500 went to the organization, Hillman said.
Child Enrichment’s spring fundraiser, Cookin’ for Kids, held in March in Augusta, raised $40,000.
A silent art and basket auction and a Windsor Jewelers jewelry raffle also will take place.
Tickets cost $75 and can be purchased at all locations of the CSRA Credit Union and First Bank of Georgia, Cudos on Augusta West Parkway and Cudos 2 U on North Belair Road, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries on Washington Road, Ladybug’s Flowers & Gifts on Furys Ferry Road and Child Enrichment in Augusta.
Tickets also will be sold at the door.
