Congratulations to Tom and Paul for their worthy achievement.
Sadly, Ryan Andresen, Troop 212, San Francisco Bay Area, having completed ALL of the requirements for receiving the Eagle Scout Badge, was refused his award by his troop leader because Ryan was gay. Ryan will be 18 next Monday and, at that time, too old to receive the award.
Over 300 Eagle Scouts have already turned in their badges in support of Ryan, and as their way to send a message against discrimination of any kind.
