Blues sensation Keb’ Mo’ will perform today in Evans.
The Grammy winner’s solo concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center at the Columbia County Library.
“Sometimes, while a performer sounds great with a band backing them up, they sound even better when they’re just by themselves,” said concert promoter Mike Deas, the president and CEO of Augusta Amusements. “A lot of folks seem to like the more intimate feeling of an artist like that just performing with their instruments.”
A limited number of tickets are still available.
Keb’ Mo’ has won Grammys for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 1997, 1999 and 2005.
He last performed in the Augusta area in 2009, selling out the Imperial Theatre during the Westobou Festival.
“He has terrific music,” Deas said. “He tells some great stories in the songs that he performs.”
His most recent album, The Reflection, was released in 2011 and draws influences from several genres, including blues, rock, folk and gospel.
