Rodeo this weekend at fairgrounds

Rodeo Nights returns for the eighth year to the Columbia County Fairgrounds this weekend.

The rodeo, featuring professional contestants, is an annual fundraiser for the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation.

Tickets can be purchased at Augusta and Thomson BP locations, all Georgia Bank & Trust locations, Boots Bridles and Britches, Tractor Supply in Thomson, SOHO Augusta in Surrey Center and online at www.crosscreekrodeo.com.

The Whippersnapper Stampede for Kids is 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday and 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday.

When: Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; gates open at 12:30 p.m. and rodeo starts at 2:30 p.m. Sunday

Cost: In advance, $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12 and free for children younger than 5; at the gate, $14 for adults and $8 for children; free for burn survivors
