Evans Towne Center Park is the place to be this weekend for anyone interested in the great outdoors.
The fourth annual RV and Boat Show has moved from Wildwood Park at Clarks Hill Lake to the Evans park to make the event more accessible to the public, said Wildwood Coordinator Jeb Bell.
“It’s a free event now, plus everybody doesn’t have to come up here to the lake,” he said.
Visitors will be able to check out boats and RVs set up for display by several retailers, including Hayes Marine, Lincolnton Marine, Platinum Marine, Tomberlin Outdoor, CSRA Camperland, Augusta RV and Pollard Camper Rental.
The show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
During the event, visitors can play disc golf at the park or check out cooking and fishing expos, Bell said, along with food, inflatables and activities for children.
“It should be a fun day,” Bell said.
In previous years, the show was only held on one day of the weekend.
“We had everything there,” said Bell about making it a two-day function. “We might as well leave it for the whole weekend for everybody to come see it.”
Also going on Saturday at Evans Towne Center Park is Columbia County’s Spring Plant Swap and Sale.
From 8 a.m. to noon, retailers, garden clubs and residents will be selling plants and garden merchandise at the park.
Garden enthusiasts also can head to the “swapping tent” to trade plants from their own garden with others, said county Community Events Specialist Keela Colombraro.
“(It’s) a great way to introduce new plants in your home garden,” she said.
The plant swap also is free.
