The Columbia County Planning Commission wrapped up its final meeting of 2011 on Thursday by approving four plats and a plan revision for an Evans retirement community.
The minor change applies to a proposed facility at Brandon Wilde for patients with Alzheimer’s Disease. The 25-bed center would be constructed as a separate building instead of an extension of the main Brandon Wilde facility off Owens Road, as initially designed.
The building would be located on the northern corner of the site, with access from Bohler Avenue. The project is planned to include two gated courtyard areas and a sidewalk around the building.
Planning commissioners also passed two final plats for 64 lots on about 15 acres and 53 lots on 20.6 acres within the Crawford Creek development off Hereford Farm Road.
Additionally, the board approved preliminary plats for the second phases of Willow Oak Village off Hamilton Road and Connor Place off Old Evans Road. Willow Oak Village calls for 64 lots on 21 acres, while Connor Place will consist of 52 lots on 10.5 acres.
In other business, the planning commission initiated a text amendment regarding a moratorium officials placed in November on R-2, R-3 and R-3A zonings, which have minimum lot sizes of 7,500 to 10,000 square feet.
The deadline for the 90-day moratorium is Feb. 14.
