Christmas events have begun in Columbia County, with tree lightings and parades across the community during the weekend.

Hundreds gathered in Grovetown and Harlem for tree-lighting ceremonies Thursday and Friday, for Grovetown’s parade on Saturday, for Columbia County’s Christmas in America Festival on Saturday and the Columbia County Merchants Association Parade on Sunday.

The festivities continue Saturday with Harlem’s Christmas in the Heart of Downtown Harlem and the city’s annual parade.
