The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its lifetime achievement, small business and business of the year awards.
The Lifetime Achieve-ment Award is given to a community leader who has contributed significantly to the overall quality of life in the county.
The small business and business of the year awards will go to a chamber member who has been in operation for at least three years and involved in the community and chamber activities.
“Companies can nominate themselves as well,” said chamber President and CEO Tammy Shepherd.
The chamber will accept nominations through Wednesday.
In 2010, deceased home builder Jake Ivey received the Lifetime Achievement Award, Mass Media Marketing received the Small Business Award and Doctors Hospital received the Business of the Year Award, Shepherd said.
A list of criteria for each award and nomination forms can be found on the chamber’s Web site at www.columbiacountychamber.com.
Nominated business owners need also to fill out and turn in a business profile sheet to provide board members with a deeper look into their company. The board will select the winners.
“Since the board members represent the general membership, they are the ones who pick the winners,” Shepherd said. “It’s done by secret ballot.”
Nomination forms should be faxed to (706) 651-0023 or mailed to Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, 4424 Evans to Locks Road, Evans, GA, 30809.
The winners will be announced Jan. 31 at the chamber’s annual banquet.
