While three Columbia County schools are competing for votes in a nationwide online contest, Harlem High also needs votes in a separate singing competition.

En Voce, an after-school singing group at Harlem High, has won entry to the Glee Off 2011 Children’s First Finals to be held Nov. 17 at the University of Georgia Fine Arts Theater.

The competition includes a People’s Choice award that is determined with online votes.

To vote, visit www.youtube.com/user/Gleeoff2011 and search for Harlem High. Vote by clicking “Like.” Harlem drama teacher and En Voce director Roy Lewis, along with Phillip Streetman, said site visitors can vote as often as they wish.

“Harlem High School does not have a choral program in the regular school curriculum,” Lewis said in an email. “The group is made up of student volunteers that meet two times a week after school to rehearse and learn music. ... We are extremely proud of the dedication of this group to keep music in our school.”

Voting ends at 5 p.m. Nov. 16.
