People can help fund a cure for breast cancer Monday simply by getting a haircut at an Evans salon.

Retreat Spa & Salon, 4246 Washington Road, will hold the fifth annual Cut for a Cure from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The event doubles as a fifth anniversary for Retreat Spa & Salon.

“It’s just giving back to the community,” said salon customer service manager Ashlee Sullivan. “And there’s so many people affected by breast cancer.”

By giving a donation to the foundation, guests receive a complimentary haircut, a nail polish color change, a chair massage, facial waxing, body art or a makeover. Donations of any amount are accepted, Sullivan said.

“It’s just walk-ins only,” Sullivan said.

Parked in front of the salon will be a bloodmobile and mobile mammography unit.

Raffle tickets for Estee Lauder and Aveda gift baskets can also be purchased. All money raised benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Lydia Project.

More than $5,000 was raised for the foundation at last year’s event, Sullivan said
