No one was injured in a fire that destroyed an Evans home Tuesday night.
A resident of Windmill Plantation called 911 just before 9 p.m. to report a grass fire in the back yard of a home at 946 Windmill Parkway, according to Columbia County Fire Rescue Administrative Chief Jeremy Wallen. Firefighters found the attic of the house fully involved. The three residents, including homeowners Richard and Hae on Davis, were not home at the time.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, but the home was completely destroyed. Firefighters salvaged personal items from the home.
