On a night when top scorer Chris Hall started slowly, Lakeside needed contributions to come from somewhere else.
Mark Weidenaar provided his share and more.
“At halftime, coach (John) Kucela told us, ‘We need some guys to step up and take over the role a little bit. He can’t do it all by himself,’ ” the senior said.
“That’s what we were trying to do.”
Weidenaar missed only two shots while scoring a team-high 17 points, as Lakeside staved off visiting Harlem 61-49 on Friday night in a nonregion contest.
