No one was injured in a Monday fire damaged a Winfield home.

The fire started at about 12:30 p.m. from a wood-burning stove in 7525 Winfield Road in Appling, according to Jeremy Wallen, a spokesman for Columbia County Fire Rescue.

The occupant of the home said he’d used the stove earlier in the day, according to Wallen.

The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was injured.

The blaze damaged the roof and attic of the home, according to Wallen.
