A wreck Monday afternoon closed down an Evans thoroughfare and sent several people to the hospital.
Old Evans Road was completely closed to traffic for nearly an hour after a four-car wreck at Harden Street.
Colin Kelley, of Martinez, stopped his Ford F-150 to turn left onto Harden Street at about 1:15 p.m. A Nissan Sentra driven by Cullens RicRocjenski, of Martinez, hit the back of the truck, according to Columbia County sheriff’s Sgt. A.J. Lyons. John David Harold, of Evans, hit the back of the Nissan and was flung into oncoming traffic, where he hit a Toyota Corolla, driven by Wilma Faye Hicks, of Evans, head-on.
Kelley and his passenger were not injured. Ricrocjenski and his two passengers, Harold and Hicks were transported to the Georgia Regents Medical Center with what appeared to be serious, but not life-threatening injuries, according to Lyons.
The wreck is still under investigation.
