The owner of a Martinez electronics store was arrested Thursday, and Columbia County authorities are looking for people who believe they’ve been duped by him.

Perry Clark Bower, 54, is owner of Electric Medic at 3850 Washington Road, Suite 5-B, near West Town shopping center. He was charged with two counts of theft by deception. He was released from the Columbia County Detention Center after posting a $3,200 bond, according to jail records.

Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said they’ve had 14 people report that they were victims of the business over the past couple of months.

The victims told authorities that they would leave a television for repair with Bower along with a deposit. Some say they can’t reach Bower by phone, others say he hasn’t repaired their electronics, mostly televisions, or repaid their deposits.

“There very well may be more (victims) that haven’t filed a report,” Morris said.

“If they’ve had some type of business transaction and they feel like they’ve been duped or this business has failed to deliver, they should call us and file a report.”

Morris said the business contains hundreds if not a thousand pieces of electronics mostly televisions.

Anyone who wishes to make a report concerning Electric Medic should call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 541-2800.
