A Lincolnton, Ga., man involved in a June 1 wreck that killed a newlywed and injured his bride was charged Thursday.

Torvory Orverice Curry, 35, turned himself in to authorities and was charged with driving on a suspended license and open container. He was released from the Columbia County Detention Center Thursday after posting a $2,200 bond, according to jail records.

Curry was driving on Washington Road near the Little River Bridge at about 10:15 p.m., when he was hit head-on by a Saturn driven by Brian Allen Orzechowski, 36. Orzechowski had just left his wedding reception and was headed to Pointes West Army Resort with his bride, Crystal Lynn Krentler, 35, when he crossed the center line.

Orzechowski died at the scene. Krentler was in fair condition Thursday at Georgia Regents Medical Center, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Curry was taken to the Doctors Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Curry was driving on a suspended license and had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

Be more accurate with the headline

Granted he was driving with an open container and under a suspended license but HE did not cause the accident. The other driver did by crossing the median.

Car accidents are taking

Car accidents are taking lives too often and no matter how much the community invests in making awareness for those who like to speed up on the freeway, people are still ignoring the speed limits. If you speak with the guys from VA cremation you will find out that 3 out of 5 cases of death, were connected to a car crash.
