Authorities have released the name of a man found dead inside his home Wednesday, but are still waiting to determine the cause of death.
The man is identified as Harry Donald Hardin Jr, 49, said Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins. He last was seen alive on May 11.
A neighbor called authorities to check on Hardin, who was found in “an advanced state of decomposition” inside his Belair Pines home off South Belair Road near Interstate 20, Collins said.
There were no weapons found or other initial indications of suicide or foul play, Collins said. He could have died from natural causes.
Authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy being conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Atlanta.
