School Hearings, March 27, 2013

• A Grovetown High School student went before the school system hearing officer on March 12, 2013, for possession of a knife and was suspended for the remainder of the school year with the option to attend the Columbia County Alternative School.

• A Lakeside Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 12, 2013, for possession of drug paraphernalia and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and the first semester of next year with the option to attend the alternative school.

• A Columbia Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 12, 2013, for theft and was suspended for the remainder of the school year with the option to attend the alternative school.

• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer on March 12, 2013, for an accumulation of offenses and was remanded to the school with time served.

• An alternative school student went before the hearing officer on March 12, 2013, for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and ordered to attend the alternative school for the first semester of next year.

• An Evans High School student went before the hearing officer on March 13, 2013, for violence against a teacher and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and ordered to attend the alternative school for the first semester of next year.

• A Grovetown Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 13, 2013, for possession of a weapon and was suspended for the remainder of the school year with the option to attend the alternative school.

• A Grovetown Middle School special needs pupil went before the hearing officer on March 14, 2013, for public indecency and was remanded to the Individualized Education Program Committee for punishment.

• A Grovetown Middle School pupil went before the hearing officer on March 14, 2013, for terroristic threats and was remanded to the school for insufficient evidence.

• A Lakeside Middle School special needs pupil went before the hearing officer on March 14, 2013, for an accumulation of offenses and was remanded to the IEP committee for punishment.

• A Grovetown High School student went before the hearing officer on March 14, 2013, for possession of a weapon and was remanded to the school with time served.

• A Greenbrier High School student went before the hearing officer on March 14, 2013, for an accumulation of offenses and was suspended for the remainder of the school year and ordered to attend the alternative school for the first semester of next year.
