Bright, sunny skies with afternoon temperatures in the 70s are expected to provide a picture-perfect backdrop for several weekend events in the Evans area.
The Columbia County RV & Boat Show opened today at Evans Towne Center Park, and continues 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday. Admission to the fifth annual show is free.
Augusta Marine, Hayes Marine, Lincolnton Marine and Platinum Marine each have brought dozens of boats for display at the show, while Augusta RV and CSRA Camperland are displaying recreational vehicles.
In addition, children’s activities are provided and food outdoor vendors are available.
Motorists along North Belair Road headed to the RV and boat show might want to use caution Saturday morning from 8 to 10 a.m. when Wesley United Methodist Church holds its annual Great Wesley Chase 5K run/walk.
The event will mean temporary closures of North Belair near the church, at 825 North Belair Road, and along the streets of the Deer Run subdivision.
Those interested in participating in the run can sign up on site at 8 a.m., with more information available at www.wesleystudents.com.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, Walton Foundation for Independence and the Brain Injury Association of Georgia will hold the annual Brain Injury Awareness Walk at the Columbia County Amphitheater behind the library in Evans.
Registration for participants is available at www.walk.kintera.org, or on site.
