No one was injured in an early morning wreck that left a lumber truck flipped in a ditch.

Kathy Bell, 55, of North Augusta, was driving west on Fury’s Ferry and told deputies that she put on her turn signal and stopped to turn left onto Southern Pines Drive, according to Columbia County sheriff’s Deputy Jim DiArenzo.

Donte Moses, 43, of Augusta, was driving an L & W Supply truck loaded with lumber behind Bell. He said Bell stopped suddenly and he swerved to avoid hitting her Ford Taurus, DiArenzo said.

The lumber truck veered to the right and clipped the back right side of Bell’s car. The truck went onto the shoulder and rolled down a steep embankment, landing on the passenger side.

Donte was cited for traveling too fast for conditions, DiArenzo said.

Traffic was narrowed to one lane as Columbia County Fire Rescue personnel dealt with a possible diesel fuel leak.
